Visiting a museum can offer a chance for a culture-filled, fun family outing. However, the price to get into these locations is sometimes more than people can afford. This is the reason that there are tips on how to save money on museums and gallery entrance fees so widely available.
Many people have already thought of this one, but look for coupons online. Sometimes there is a mailing list that you can join that will off coupons occasionally. Other times, you can just do a search for the location’s name and the word ‘coupon’ or ‘deals’, and find something. Do use the exact name for the best results.
If you live in the area, look for resident freebie days. These are times when the location is open to people who live within a given area (usually defined by the city of county limits) are given free or reduced-price admission. This is not always well known, so look for it even if you don’t think it’s an option at your location of choice.
Some places simply have ‘free days’. These are days once a month, or on some kind of regular schedule, where anyone can get in free. They are not usually advertised, though they may be well known by local residents. Often, they take place on a weekday, but sometimes they happen on weekends as well.
Take your meals with you. Eating at the restaurant inside a museum is usually fairly expensive, and even if it isn’t, you can still do it for less by bringing food from home. A sandwich for each person, a big bag of chips to share, and cans of soda purchased at the grocery store will be much cheaper than anything you can find on the in-museum cafe menu.
Many of these venues charge to park. Sometimes there’s no other option, but sometimes you can find a place a bit further away that doesn’t cost a thing. In cultural-center parks and other similar locations, you can often find free parking with a shuttle option. Some places just aren’t close enough to anything else for there to be free parking, but it’s worth looking into.
It’s not hard to learn how to save money on museums and gallery entrance fees, but it does take some work on your part. Think of it like exchanging your effort for a reduced price. An hour spent looking for deals online, checking out the parking situation, and going grocery shopping can save you a lot on your trip.
There are no cell phones at museums usually but that doesn’t mean you won’t save money with the use of the Verizon wireless coupon code here. Take a look and check out the savings.
